BungeeSuite Chat plugin problem

So I'm trying to run BungeeSuite Chat, I want to be able to have cross server messaging and a global channel. Whenever I try to set it up I get a mysql based error. I set up its own mysql database on my dedicated machine but it wont connect. The database does go through the same ip and port as another database I'm using for coreprotect. I'm running bungeecord build #875 and all the spigot builds are 1.7.2

Does anyone know what could be wrong?
