[Proxy] Lost connection to server. Cannot connect to any server.

Tried:

• Reinstalling MC
• Googling the problem.
• Restarting Router, Modem, Comp.
• Playing different versions of MC (1.7.10, 1.7.9, 1.8).
• Trying to get a new IP address.

I cannot connect to any server for more than a split second. This has been tested on about a half dozen relatively large servers.

I have NOT tried connecting smaller server, as I don't know anyone who has one.

A server admin directed me to here.
