BungeeCord UUID Spooffing / BungeeGuard

Hello,
I have a 1.8.8 spigot network (pvp) and I have had some problems with UUID spoofing and got the server griefed. Then, I discovered BungeeGuard, the solution to this problem. About BungeeGuard, I have some questions, does it work with BungeeCord connected to spigot / paper 1.8.8 servers? Does it work with 1.8.8? Does it work with spigot or do I need paper?

EDIT: I don't have my servers in a VPS / Dedicated Machine, so I cant set up IPtables / uwf
